Wildlife Tracking and Trailing

Wildlife Tracking and Trailing

Explore the variety of wildlife in our area through tracks and trails. We begin with a brief overview of the identifying characteristics of tracks and trails, discussing terms, tactics, and what to look for. As we travel through the woods, meadows and wetlands, we will take time to analyze specific locations to better understand the interconnected wildlife trail systems. Participants will learn how to identify different wildlife tracks and trails, and gain insight into the stories they tell. Finally, there will be time to put new knowledge to work as you find and identify tracks and trails with your guide.

The primary focus is on larger and more numerous species, but is subject to additions depending on what wildlife is currently in the area. Wildlife may include (but is not limited to): whitetail deer, raccoon, opossum, coyote, fox, skunk, squirrel, bobcat, and black bear.

This is a solid introduction into the world of tracking, but also great hands-on tracking time for more experienced trackers.

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Where to look for wildlife tracks, trails and sign
  • Track analysis
  • Track and trail ID
  • Track documentation
  • Wildlife movement
  • Wildlife interaction with the ecosystem
  • Tactics for tracking efficiently and effectively

Date: April 15th, 5-6:30pm. Rain Date April 16th, 5-6:30pm

Healing Drum Circle

A Healing Drum Circle is a gathering of those who wish to experience the healing energy of the drum, the heartbeat of Mother Earth. The drum has the ability to shift our energy in a dramatic way, as it is an integral tool for vibrational healing.

The Healing Drum Circles begin with the calling in of spirit and the creation of sacred space. Each circle is directly guided by spirit and will be in the unique flavor of the facilitator, so the format tends to vary for each one. The time of year, the phase of the moon and the current earth and celestial energies all can change the shape of the gathering. Some facilitators may include a shamanic journey, meditation, or a teaching focused on a particular spirit (animal/tree/nature/angel). Others may spend more time in the rhythms of the sound and in sacred songs.

This will be reoccurring the 1st friday monthly. The facilitator will vary to keep the content fresh and exciting each month!

$20 Must pre-register. In person only. Space limited so register early.

This program will be held at Muktinath Holistic Center.

We are all teachers and messengers of spirit, so no level of training or ability is required. If you have a drum or rattle, please bring one with you. Also bring water, blanket and anything you need to be comfortable. Wear warm thick socks as shoes are not allowed in the tipi. Layers of clothing is recommended as it can get chilly in the evenings.

For the Llove of Llamas

For the Love of Llamas

April 22nd (raindate April 23)
Time – 1-3pm
For the LLove of LLamas
$20 per family

Who couldn’t fall in love with these incredible creatures? LLamas are highly intelligent and social animals with excellent survival skills. Their thick coats allow them to thrive in cool climates and their gentle humming allows them to communicate with their herd. Originally, llamas were native to North America but gradually migrated to South America during the time of the ice age, 2 million years ago!

Join us at the sanctuary for this rare opportunity to meet and interact with miniature Argentinian, Bolivian, Chilean & Peruvian Llamas! Rowanwood Farm and Eco Acres will discuss the many variations of llamas and help you learn about their origins, fiber types and patterns.

And don’t forget to take some time to be creative and have fun at the LLAMA CRAFT BOOTH! Plus, meet Monica Kerkes, author of “The Llove Llama & Friends” book series. There are just so many reasons to Llove those Llamas and this is your chance to talk to the experts, learn about these incredible creatures and maybe even receive a few llama kisses!

Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Llamas
  • Llama Selfies and Photo opportunities
  • Llama Facts
  • Gift Shop
  • Business/Organization Information
  • Crafts
  • Fiber Arts
  • Author Readings
